Bigger diameter, thicker shackle, and more weight behind every component. The ABUS 26/80 Diskus Padlock is the larger sibling in the 26 series. It brings everything that makes the original Diskus design exceptional at a scale built for the most demanding high-security applications.
ABUS 26/80
The ABUS 26/80 Diskus Padlock features a heavy-duty stainless-steel body and a massive inner base for enhanced security. The two stainless steel housing halves use ABUS Diskus Deep-Welding Technology and are hand-welded at the seam, so the housing cannot be forced apart under attack.
The cylinder resists both drilling and pull-out attempts, and the shackle uses a special alloy hardened steel with additional protection against sawing.

The Diskus design limits shackle exposure to a small recessed opening. The key-retaining function keeps the key engaged until the lock is fully closed, preventing accidental lock-outs. Made in Germany, this is the original Diskus design that carries a security level 8 rating.

Why the ABUS 26/80 Steps Up Where the 26/70 Leaves Off
The 26/80 shares the same core Diskus technology as the 26/70 but adds a wider diameter, a thicker shackle, and more overall mass.
The 7/16in shackle diameter provides greater resistance to cutting tools than the thinner 26/70 shackle, and the wider horizontal clearance of 63/64in improves compatibility with a broader range of hasp and gate hardware. For applications where the 26/70 covers most of the threat and the 26/80 covers the rest, the size difference makes the decision straightforward.
